Location: Palm Beach Gardens, Florida
Facility: Irrigation Pump House
Construction Type: Roof Restoration (Re-Roof & Structural Repair)
The irrigation pump house at Old Marsh Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida — a private Pete Dye course set within a protected wetlands preserve — had reached the end of its roof’s service life. Years of South Florida weather had left the original wood shake roof failing, with water working its way down into the structure beneath it. Left unaddressed, the damage threatened the building that shelters the course’s irrigation equipment.
Roughneck Ranch carried out a full roof restoration: not just a new roof surface, but a repair of the structure underneath it. We rebuilt the compromised framing and decking, re-roofed the building, renewed the eaves, and added a new access hatch — returning the pump house to a sound, weather-tight condition.

Structural Repair of Trusses & Sheathing. Before any new roofing went on, we addressed the structure itself — repairing the damaged trusses and replacing the deteriorated sheathing so the new roof would sit on a sound, solid deck.
Complete Re-Roofing. With the framing restored, we installed a new architectural asphalt shingle roof across all roof planes, with clean hip ridges and a crisp new drip edge — a durable, watertight surface built for South Florida’s climate.
New Soffits & Fascia. We rebuilt the eaves, installing new soffits and fascia in place of the rotted woodwork to close in and protect the roof edge.
New Access Hatch. Finally, we added a new access hatch to give the maintenance team secure, convenient entry to the building and its irrigation equipment.
What began as a worn-out roof became a complete, sound restoration. With repaired framing, a new shingle roof, renewed eaves, and a new access hatch, the Old Marsh pump house is once again fully protected from the elements — ready to safeguard the irrigation equipment that keeps this Pete Dye course in championship condition.
