Naples Heritage Pump House

Location: Naples, Florida

Facility: Irrigation Pump House

Construction Type: Pump Station Replacement — Structural Wall Modification

Project Description

At Naples Heritage, the irrigation pump station had reached the end of its service life and needed to be replaced. The obstacle wasn’t the equipment itself — it was getting the old station out and the new one in. The pump house had been built around the original station, and the only designed access point, the roof hatch, was far too small to remove the old unit or bring in the replacement.
The Naples Heritage pump house with a section of block wall removed and shoring posts in place, exposing the old irrigation pump station inside for removal.

Our assessment revealed the key challenges of the replacement:

Roof hatch too small — no usable access route for the old or new station

Wall rebuilt and refinished to match the original structure
Rather than force the equipment through an opening that would never fit, Roughneck Ranch created a temporary access route by removing a section of the block wall. With the wall opened and the structure properly supported, the team pulled the old irrigation station out, slid the new station into place, and then rebuilt and refinished the wall to match the original structure.
A crane boom positioned at the Naples Heritage pump house wall opening with a steel support beam spanning the gap as the new irrigation station is moved into place.
The rebuilt and refinished exterior wall of the Naples Heritage pump house, re-stuccoed and painted to match the existing structure with no sign of the opening.
The completed repair blends cleanly into the existing structure, leaving no sign of the opening that made the entire replacement possible.
This project highlights Roughneck Ranch’s problem-solving approach to facility work — finding the most practical path to a difficult goal and executing it without compromising the building. By thinking through the access challenge up front and supporting the structure properly throughout, the team delivered a clean irrigation pump station replacement and restored the pump house to its original condition.
